I got to take some pictures of baby Samantha today. She is a week old now. We attempted to get a couple family pictures for Jen and Jayson, but it didn’t go so well. Two year olds really don’t like having their picture taken with brothers or sisters.
Amy and I went up to Norris this morning to take a few pictures for her class. The water was very still, with a thick layer of fog over it. It was cool looking, but I liked the picture of the rocks the best.
Alaina likes playing under the chairs and squeezing in tight places. She like to play “boo” too. Except she says, “bu!” Close enough for now.
We got to hang out with my mom, Matthew, and Emma today. We played outside in the pool in the nice weather. Everyone managed to get wet, except for Emma. She stayed a safe distance away. Matthew had fun splashing Nana, but she got him back.
We met Christy at the park today to play in the water and sand. Alaina was enjoying her first lesson in Taoism. It’s good to be well-rounded.
Again, I was looking for things to take pictures of to create the element of “shape” in a photo. It is making things look more 2-D than 3-D. This is kind of the opposite of what you’re used to doing. It is much harder than you would think. Making a silhouette is the obvious way, but I was looking for something else. I was heading downstairs when I saw the Cozy Coupe and puppy sitting side by side waiting for Alaina. I think it creates “shape” with the light behind them. I also thought it was so cute. She loves both, her car and puppy right now! They look so cute just siting there, waiting for their playmate. Amy- look at the lens flare- it’s the lamp!
Alaina loves helping with my photography. She doesn’t know she’s helping, but she’s always willing to hang out wherever I stick her. I was taking some pictures into the sun, trying to flatten her to 2-D. The light wasn’t really right, so I ended up just taking some cute pictures. I softened the color on this one. It gives it a soft, natural feel. Yes, Mom, i checked us both for ticks!
Alaina was so proud of herself. It’s funny what they find to amuse themselves. Right now, she is holding the highlighter and a Peek-a-ball and banging them on the door. I think it must be a new sport.
I also had to include a picture of me and baby Crandall. Jennifer and Jayson had Samantha Sunday night. She weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz. and was 21 in. She has lots of hair and is so cute!
Nothing too exciting, but we got rain today! I’m ready for a new lens to play with.
We went out to my dad’s today to celebrate Father’s Day. Alaina got to go for a few boat rides. She wasn’t so sure about it and didn’t like her life jacket on the first ride. She started to enjoy it when we went faster. The second ride, she fell asleep and slept in my arms to whole time. The last boat ride she got to watch Mommie and Daddy tube and ski. We had a fun day!
