Day 152- The happy couple

Ashley, Jason, and I went to the World’s Fair Park today to take some engagement photos for them. They are getting married in July. I have a few more of their photos on my flickr site. If you want to see them you should be able to click on the picture, and it will take you to the site. I still have several more to work on. We took lots of pictures, much to Jason’s surprise.

Day 151- Five-year-old cake

I know, yuck!  Today was our five year anniversary.  We saved our cake topper to eat on our one year anniversary.  I think we forgot and decided to save it for two years.  After two years it was pretty good still.  We decided to save it again.  Well, it became a yearly tradition, and we hated to throw it away.  I don’t really remember it being too bad until this year.  It was pretty freezer burned and just not quite right.  The icing wasn’t too bad and a couple days later, we have still survived.  Needless to say, it went in the trash this year.  I told Tyler it was probably bad luck to save it past 5 years.

Day 150- Clean as laundry

Alaina enjoys helping me with the laundry.  I fold it and stack it neatly.  She grabs it out of the pile and unfolds it.  She also likes to tip the basket over and pull out the folded clothes.

Day 149- Green beans?

Alaina was not so sure about her dinner tonight.  She had green beans with chunky rice in it.  She liked the taste at first but then started spitting it out into her hands to re-eat.  She was not refusing it and actually ate most of it, except for what she wore on herself.  She started to make a mess fast and it just got worse, so I let her have fun.  Tyler said it was the new green bean facial.   He also got to give her a bath.

Day 148- The face of a four-year-old

Matthew had his last game of the season. I took several pictures, all with goofy faces.  Melanie told him to quit making that face, and it only got worse.  At least he wasn’t running from me.

Day 147- Riding along in my automobile

It’s great to have such young aunts.  Tyler and Alaina went to visit Aunt Rachel and Hannah and came home with a Cozy Coupe, little slide, and some baby gates.  Alaina likes to be pushed around the house in the cozy coupe or to use it as a walker.  We’ll have to watch some Flintstones to help her figure it out.

Day 146- It’s almost time

I went today and took some pictures for Jen and Marlie. She is having baby #2 in about a month. We had fun shooting some pictures, and I had two cute models to work with. Two year olds can be a challenge. I need to learn some tricks to get them to smile or even look at the camera.

Day 145- Pooltime

We bought Alaina her first swimming pool today.  You can almost see it in the background.  It is just a single blow-up ring pool.  (The first warning listed on it is- No diving.  We’ll have to watch our little daredevil.)  I was playing around with the sun and sunflare.  It is really pretty fun and makes some neat pictures.  I couldn’t decide which I liked best.  I had my aperture shut down too much and had some crazy pentagons.

Day 144- A step to remember

My mom and Alaina made me an adorable stepping stone for Mother’s Day.  Apparently, Alaina wasn’t too cooperative and kept scrunching her toes and pulling away.  I thought it was great, but my mom wanted to redo it.  We went over today and made another one.  I can see why they had such a hard time.  We were able to make a good one, I think.  Now I’ll have two stepping stones to enjoy!

Day 143- Whee!

We got to watch Emma and Matthew tonight.  Luckily Tyler got home to help me juggle the three kids.  We were playing, feeding, bathing, and cooking dinner all at once.  We got to play outside a bit before it got dark.  Emma was all smiles on the swing!
